The ARTS Department
The ARTS department at SAC is composed of nine different programs organized into four categories:
- Media Arts: Radio-Television-Film, Music Business, Communication Design, and Journalism/Photojournalism
- Performing Arts: Music, Drama, Dance
- Design Arts: Architecture
- Fine Arts: Visual Arts
The consistent theme shared by all of the programs in the ARTS department is that each is focused on the idea of creativity. From architecture to visual arts, these programs stress both analytic and inventive thinking that prepares students for an ever-changing world, so they might become the next generation of creative and critical thinkers.
The ARTS department is also a multimedia hub with media outlets and performance venues, including:
- KSYM 90.1FM – the radio station of San Antonio College
- TVSA – a community access cable station that broadcasts content from San Antonio College and other local colleges and universities
- The Sundial – the online student newspaper for San Antonio College
- McAllister Auditorium and McCreless Auditorium, both located on the San Antonio College campus.
